I figure everyone could benefit in some way from the email I sent our Texas City Boot Camp members today, so I’ve posted it below by request.
******************
Sometimes the world can seem gloomy.
Sometimes the world is glorious.
And when you’re in the ‘thick of things’,
especially for moms, distractions make it easy
for you to focus trying to help
everyone, except yourself.
I’ve been there.
I used to be ‘the glass half empty’, gloomy
kind of guy.
Rewind almost a decade ago, you’d see a
guy who was unrecognizable.
Believe it or not, I was 80lbs overweight steering death in the face.
Thoughts of negativity and self-destruction
were commonplace in my head.
Where my life would end up… soon took a turn for the worse.
Drugs, alcohol abuse, fair-weather friends…
You name it, sadly, it happened to me.
Until one day, ‘kick a dog enough, it’ll start to bite’.
I became sick and tired of being sick and extremely tired.
So I took personal responsibility.
I accepted the fact, no person, no entity or
force would ever ‘save me’ or change any circumstances in my life.
There’s a saying,
“Success has to start with you, your thoughts which occupy your mind
and what you believe to BE the perfect you”,
a wise man once said.
And soon as you switch from ‘thinking’ those negative
thoughts and problems you face….you find that your problems
become your stepping stone, and an unstoppable POWER to assist your ACTIONS.
You probably think I jumped
off a banana boat just now…
But I fought hard to remove the ‘head trash’,
as well as anything negative in my life, every single day.
And now surround myself with good, successful people I look up to.
Prioritize life first, and take better care of myself FIRST,
eating better and working out.
I lost 80lbs, found purpose through people, and passion through fitness.
So, what’s the point of this email?
Some folks who are going through hard times
right now (and you know who you are) can ‘try’ to
make it go away. You can run from it.
But when you ‘try’, you set yourself
up for an option to fail.
Like NASA says, ‘Failure is not an option’, if you know, in the end your problems,
failures and heartache are part of
your bigger picture or purpose in life.
And when you do, you’ll see the cup half full, world a glorious place and
your life transform as mine has through fitness.
Let the little stuff go, stick to your workouts!
Get your rest, exercise, nutrition and let the good times roll!
That’s a mouthfull, but you get my drift…
Committed to your success,
Jerremy
